These Waxed Flat Laces are covered in a layer of wax, giving it a glossy sheen as opposed to a matte finish. This gives the laces an almost leathery finish, which makes it highly suitable for leather shoes. But don't let this restrict you from using it other shoes such as Stan Smith, Ultra Boost or etc.
